A Rotherham Council-run care home has been rated ‘Good’ by the Care Quality Commission following its latest inspection.
Lord Hardy Court, in Rawmarsh, supports older people, including those living with dementia, as well as people with learning disabilities.
CQC inspectors visited in June and found the service continues to provide safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led support for residents.
Earlier this year the Council’s Adult Social Care Service was also rated as Good by the CQC following a separate inspection.
The Lord Hardy Court report highlights the kind, caring and respectful approach of staff, with residents and families sharing positive feedback about their experiences.
Inspectors found that people feel safe and well supported and there are strong relationships between staff and residents.
Key highlights from the report include:
- Effective care planning, ensuring people’s needs are assessed and regularly reviewed.
- Good access to healthcare and nutrition, supporting residents’ overall wellbeing.
- A person-centred approach, with people involved in decisions about their care and supported to maintain independence.
- Well-led leadership, with clear governance in place to maintain quality and address issues quickly.
- Positive and strong learning culture with staff supported through training, supervision and development opportunities.
- Good partnership working with health professionals, ensuring residents receive coordinated and consistent care.
Minor issues relating to medicine management, such as record-keeping and storage checks, were found by inspectors and addressed immediately by staff.
