Lumière Gallery lights up Rotherham’s High Street!Published Friday, 18th May 2018
Rotherham’s High Street has welcomed a new business, in the shape of the Lumière Gallery.
The gallery, which specialises in showcasing the work of local artists as well as a range of photographic services, is based at 34 High Street, close to popular local businesses including the Makers Emporium, Visitor Centre & Box Office, Miele Deli and Hamby’s Antique Shop.
Lance Burkitt, who opened the business in March, said: “I’m a photographer myself and the gallery displays work from local artists as well as my own images.
“I also offer a range of photographic service from photoshoots, family portraits, weddings etc., to slide scanning, printing, framing and photo restoration.”
Cllr Denise Lelliott, Rotherham Council’s Cabinet Member for Jobs and the Local Economy, said: “I’m delighted to welcome another business to Rotherham’s High Street to join the existing community of independent retailers. I’d like to wish Lance all the best and hope that local residents take the opportunity to call in and take a look.”

Shoppers visiting Rotherham are reminded that they can take advantage of two hours free parking in the “red zones” of Drummond St and Forge Island car parks, Monday to Friday, and free weekend parking at Forge Island. In addition, visitors can get four hours parking for only £1.50 in a number of council-owned car parks every Saturday.
