Suzanne Joyner has been offered the role of Rotherham Council’s Strategic Director of Children and Young People’s Services, following a competitive selection process.

Suzanne is currently Director of Children and Adult’s Services at Darlington Council, having led their improvement journey from 2015.
Prior to joining Darlington, Suzanne was Strategic Director of Adult Services and Health at Milton Keynes Council and her earlier career has included senior roles in Adult and Children’s services at Walsall, Leeds and Doncaster Councils.
It is expected that she will start in her role in late October, enabling a handover with the current interim Strategic Director, Sally Hodges.
Suzanne said: “I’m extremely pleased to be offered the Strategic Director of Children and Young Peoples Services role in Rotherham.
“The service is rated Good by Ofsted and has ambitions to continually improve, so it’s a privilege to be joining the team and to build on their great work to date.
“As a South Yorkshire lass, I’m passionate about achieving good outcomes for our children and young people and will strive to have the best impact possible for the children in Rotherham.”
Sharon Kemp, Chief Executive of Rotherham Council, said: "I am pleased to welcome Suzanne to Rotherham, and look forward to working with her to continue to achieve further improvements for our children and young people."
