Rotherham’s largest cultural festival is to return with old favourites plus new attractions on Saturday 2 and Sunday 3 September.

Taking place, as usual, in the beautiful surroundings of Clifton Park, bringing a vibrant mix of music, dance, theatre and comedy, places to play and rest, blooms, bakes and much more. Entry to the show, which runs from 11am to 5pm each day, is free.

With children, young people, and families at its heart, the Children’s Capital of Culture Area is an exciting, creative, and interactive space that is jam-packed with hands-on activities, brilliant shows, a family rave, an eye-catching play sculpture ‘Let’s Twist’ from Kaleider, and Libraries Hub. Beloved Rotherham-based organisations Gulliver’s, Grimm & Co. and Magna will also be there throughout the weekend!

New for this year's show is the Festival Village, curated by Flux Rotherham, a celebration of the year-round tradition of festivals across Rotherham with an amazing programme of performances and workshops.

In this new space, visitors will find music from Rotherham Drummers United and The Bewonderment Machine, poetry from Ray Hearne, a wonderful workshop from artist and designer Ellie Way, plus, traditional dance by Wath Morris Minors.

Rotherham Council’s Cabinet Member for Social Inclusion, Cllr David Sheppard, said: “Rotherham Show is always a highlight in my calendar and this year is no exception. With a wonderful programme of music, dance, food, and activities this year’s event has something for everyone. It’s a real chance for people to soak up the atmosphere, get together with their communities and celebrate what Rotherham has to offer.

“We’re expecting thousands of people to come along and best of all, entry is free, which is a real bonus. Every year the Rotherham Show feels like the beating heart of the town, a coming together and a chance to make memories, so be sure to put the dates in your diary!”

Visitors will also get the chance to see popular annual attractions including visitor favourites, the Vintage Vehicle Rally, Strongmen competitions, Let’s Circus, the Chuckle Tent and of course the beloved Made in Rotherham Horticultural Show.

People will be able to browse the Produce & Makers Market with its handmade, unique goodies; soak up the colour and flavours of the Asian Bazaar; or enjoy offerings at the Food Court.

Music is an integral part of the show with some amazing performances over the years, and this year promises to be no different!

From brass bands and Hip Hop to rock and Reggae you can listen to fantastic free performances throughout the show weekend across two stages and the bandstand plus, a few pop-up performances to look out for too!

Throughout the weekend the show will celebrate the spirit of the borough and give people the chance to enjoy an amazing free festival of culture, entertainment, and family fun. But most of all, it will offer the chance for people to be together.

Parking will be available at Herringthorpe Playing Fields for £3.50 per day, card payment only. The playing fields are a 5-minute walk from the showground.
