Phase Two Improvements
Our Places Fund Phase Two improvements will focus on the following areas:
Greasbrough, Dinnington, Treeton, Wentworth and Thrybergh
Honouring Rotherham’s history and heritage, areas around cenotaphs, memorials and monuments in Greasbrough, Dinnington, Treeton, Wentworth and Thrybergh.
Based on feedback from the public consultation carried out in January and February, work is now being planned with further details to follow shortly.
Rawmarsh and Parkgate
Plans to enhance the public spaces on Rawmarsh High Street and in Parkgate have been progressed following feedback from local residents gathered during the Our Places Fund consultation in early 2026.
The proposed improvements will help create more inviting and attractive spaces and will include:
- New seating
- Tree and bulb planting
- New security bollards
- Pavement art
- Resurfacing of the Car Park off Hollybush Street in Parkgate
Swallownest
Shaped by local community feedback gathered in early 2026, plans have been developed to transform the underused green space on Gray Avenue in Swallownest into a new public space. The proposals respond to local concerns about anti-social behaviour with an aim to create a safer, more welcoming environment for the community.
This consultation has now closed. Thank you to everyone who took part. We are currently collating and reviewing all feedback received and the findings will be published online shortly which will help inform the next stages of this project.
