Apply for a selective license
Applicants must pay an application fee of £68 per property upfront with the application.
The remaining fee of £453 per property can be paid in instalments over 12 months.
There is a pro rata discount if the property has not been rented since May 2015 or if the property was previously licenced and that licence has been revoked.
There is a £13 administration fee if paying in instalments.
This element only becomes payable once we have made a decision on your application.
Payments accepted by cheque, online or at a Council payment kiosk/self-service kiosk.
With the application Landlords need to submit the following:
- a valid and in-date Gas Safety certification
- Electrical Installation Condition Report
- Energy Performance Certifcate
- A utility bill or bank statement for the applicants home address no more than 3 months old.
- a copy of either a driving licence or passport
If a landlord has more than one property in the selected areas, they need a licence for each property that they let. Any licences granted will run until April 2020.
After you apply the property will be inspected to confirm the details of the application. We will also check for any urgent repairs.
Inspections will continue to happen to ensure that the licence conditions are being met.
