If you need to make a one-off visit to a Household Waste Recycling Centre using a vehicle that normally requires a permit (such as a van or trailer), you may be eligible for a one-off tip permit.
This permit is designed to help residents who are dealing with unusual circumstances, such as:
- A family bereavement
- Moving home
- Disposing of a large item of furniture
It allows for up to 3 visits to a tip within 14 days of your expected first visit date. You can only apply for a one-off tip permit once every 12 months.
Vehicle Eligibility
You can apply for a permit if you have one of the following:
- Car with trailer (maximum trailer bed length 1.8 metres)
- Small van
- High vehicle (e.g. transit vans, dual-purpose vans)
- 4x4 pickup
You cannot apply for a permit if your vehicle is:
- A flat bed or box van
- Identification and Data Sharing
Accessible sites
Permitted high vehicles may only access Car Hill and Magilla Household Recycling Centres.
Asbestos disposal is only permitted at Car Hill between 2:00pm and 3:30pm on Mondays.
You will only be able to attend the site you are permitted when making an application.
How to Apply
The one-off permit cannot be applied for online. Instead, we will take your details and pass them to Waste Services for assessment.
To begin the process, please complete the short enquiry form below and leave your details. A member of the waste team will call you back to discuss your request and, if appropriate, help you apply for the permit.
Following submission, you will receive contact from our team within 10 working days.
Please note:
- This form is for requesting a call back only. Completing it does not guarantee that a permit will be issued.
- Our sites are operated by third-party staff, and your data may be viewed by them during the permit process.
Once permited you’ll need to show identification to access a site, such as:
- Driving licence
- Two utility bills
- Vehicle hire agreement
