Service description

Rotherham Music (RM) provides high quality music tuition to children and young people to enable them to realise their full potential as musicians, to develop musical appreciation and provide musical opportunities at all levels.

We also aim to enrich and enhance the lives of pupils, teachers, parents, communities and organised groups and contribute to their personal, social, cultural and intellectual development through music. We offer the following benefits:

  • Tuition by experienced and well qualified teachers (all with enhanced DBS disclosure) in Strings, Woodwind, Brass, Guitar, Percussion, Voice and Keyboard
  • Continuity of lessons and progression for 5 to 18 year old pupils
  • Periodic reviews of pupil progress with ongoing individual learning plans and targets
  • Annual parents meetings
  • Preparation of students for public and RM examinations
  • Curriculum support
  • First Access Projects
  • Progression Lessons
  • Support for GCSE and A level performance

Service details

Schools can choose from the following options:

Option 1 - RM Small group and individual instrumental lessons.

Option 2 – Large group tuition.

Option 3 – First Access whole class instrumental lessons. Instruments are provided free of charge.

Option 4 – Curriculum support. This is offered as a bespoke service – please contact the Music Service office to discuss your requirements.

  • First Access - £440 per term
  • Instrumental Lessons - £92 per term
  • Small group tuition - £40 per hour
