Service description

This is a key service that supports schools to meet their legal health and safety obligations under the Health & Safety at Work Act (1974), Management of Health and Safety Regulations (1999) and the Children Act (2004) when undertaking educational visits.

Schools can access locally based support, advice, guidance and training from the designated Outdoor Education Advisor (via email, telephone and in person) and also the EVOLVE system which provides a planning and preparation tool as well as a robust approval system.

All of these help staff run safe educational visits, ensuring current guidelines and good practice is met.
