Brokerage service
The Early Years and Childcare Service will work directly with parents of children with Special Educational Needs and Disability to identify an early years setting following the first enquiry around finding childcare.
We will ask for information around the child’s individual needs to be able to find the most appropriate childcare and make sure all support is in place ready for when the child starts at a setting.
This can include:
- Identifying the most appropriate type of childcare
- Arranging any training needed (including medical training)
- Provide equipment needed
- Providing funding so early years settings can provide additional staffing to support the child while at the setting.
