Rotherham East Network Improvements

A consultation on proposed improvements to Fitzwilliam Road, St Ann’s roundabout and surrounding neighbourhood streets is open now.

Between November 2024 and April 2025, we consulted on the scheme to seek feedback on how we should use funding from the City Region Sustainable Transport Settlement (CRSTS).

Since then, we have been developing proposals, using feedback from local residents, stakeholders and ward councillors. These designs are now published on the Rotherham Council website at https://haveyoursay.rotherham.gov.uk and we’d love your feedback (consultation runs 27 April to 5 June).

We are also hosting three drop-in events near you, where you can speak to our project team and ask any questions that you have:

  • Wednesday 13th May, Clifton Learning Partnership, Erskine Rd, 2.30pm to 4.30pm
  • Wednesday 13th May, Unity Centre, St Leonard's Rd, 5.30pm to 8pm
  • Thursday 14th May, Mowbray Gardens Community Library, Mowbray St, 1pm to 4pm

The City Region Sustainable Transport Settlement (CRSTS) programme is all about making everyday travel safer, easier, and better for everyone. We’re working towards:
• Safer, calmer streets – so more people feel confident walking, wheeling, or cycling, with calmer roads, more welcoming public spaces, and safe routes to school.
• Better bus services – helping buses run on time and making them more reliable and attractive.
• Tackling poor driving and parking – to improve everyone’s experience of the roads, helping people feel safer and supporting healthier, happier lives.
