Rotherham Educational Psychology Service offer different packages of support which schools and settings can purchase. When a school or setting chooses to buy Educational Psychology services, a named Educational Psychologist will be allocated to the school or setting.

They will then negotiate both statutory and non-statutory work with the special needs co-ordinators (SENDCo) and school leaders, prioritising the needs of the most complex children and young people.

See the EPS traded website for further detail on packages available:

What teachers and settings have said

This feedback is taken from interviews with practitioners talking about what they value most about their Educational Psychologists:

‘When you come and see a child you see things we don’t see’

‘Advice about people we need to involve - signposting. Cheery disposition!’

‘Working together with other services’

‘EPs are a fantastic support in school and often give parent carers the support needed when they feel challenged by school by offering solutions, ideas and being independent’

‘Advice and support with the most complex children – explanation of need so staff have better understanding of what to do and how to do it, ways to make adjustments’

‘Reports are copied and given to the class teacher, SENDCO and TA (parent carers copy is usually sent to home address). Teachers and TAs like to discuss ways forward and how to implement some of the recommendations (sharing practice)’
