Thank you to our Ward heroes in Dinnington

Dinnington litter pickers

A massive thanks goes to the Dinnington and North Anston litter pickers for their continued volunteering to improve the local environment for all.

The group, headed by Linda and Eddie meet every Thursday at 9.30am and litter pick for around an hour. The picture shows just how many bags can be filled by a small team in that time (though everyone would far prefer to have a smaller haul each week).

Everyone can do their bit to help reduce litter. The group are always happy to welcome new members and we can all do our bit to take our litter home and pick up and dispose of any litter we see.

Please keep safe when litter picking, Keep Britain Tidy recommends you use a litter picker and some gloves as a minimum.

You will also need a bag to put the litter in. Carrying hand sanitiser and washing your hands regularly is recommended.

The dates for the next group meets are as follows:

  • 13th October: Lakeland Drive - meet by the shop
  • 20th October: Greenlands Park meet in the car park
  • 27th October: meet in the lay-by by Plaxtons

Working with you to help build communities that we can all take pride in is a priority for the Council. Find out about news and events in your area by signing up to receive 'News from your Neighbourhood' e-newsletters at: https://public.govdelivery.com/accounts/UKRMBC/signup/13606
