Sheffield Cycling 4 All’s pilot programme of six inclusive cycling sessions at Herringthorpe Playing Fields was a great success, attracting 99 participants. Providing opportunities for the disabled and those with long-term health conditions to access cycling in a safe and supportive environment, the sessions had a positive impact on physical health, mental wellbeing, confidence in cycling and sense of community, said more than 90 participants in a satisfaction survey. Two in three didn’t cycle beforehand and over half didn't know cycling was possible for them. One participant said: “I would really love it if I could access more cycling sessions at Herringthorpe. I love having a bit of independence and when I get on the bike I feel I have that as I’m off biking on my own in a safe space.”
