If you're not happy with the outcome of your assessment

If you are not happy with the outcome of your assessment, you should first contact your social care practitioner. This should be within 14 days of getting your outcome letter.

If you are still unhappy with the outcome after your social care practitioner has reviewed your concerns, you, or someone acting on your behalf, has a further 14 days to appeal the decision.

Making an appeal

To make an appeal, contact Adult Social Care Business Support.

By phone: 01709 254344

By email: BusinessSupportASC@rotherham.gov.uk

Write to:

Adult Social Care Business Support Team
Floor 2A
Riverside House
Main Street

S60 1AE

What happens next?

  • The manager from a different service will contact you to find out why you are unhappy with the outcome.
  • The manager will review your appeal.
  • We will send a letter within 10 working days telling you about the appeal decision and the reasons why this decision was made. If the appeal is complicated, we may respond within 20 working days instead. We will tell you if this is the case.

What if I’m still unhappy after the appeal?

If you are still unhappy with the outcome of the appeal, you can make a formal complaint.
