The activities we offer are therapeutic, sensory and incorporate arts and crafts, drama, sport, horticulture, health and wellbeing, safeguarding, music and gaining new skills:

  • Arts and Crafts: a wide variety of arts and crafts including paper flower making, painting, clay and play dough, badge and card making, henna designs, sewing etc
  • Drama: we will be working closely with a drama teacher to use expressive arts to help increase confidence and self-esteem
  • Sports: Rotherham United Community Trust are an organisation that we have a long standing and supportive relationship with and they often provide sporting equipment and coaches so that we can provide some outdoor activities during the summer
  • Horticulture: BME YPC CIC have an allotment in Clifton Park Museum which is regularly frequented and maintained by our children, young carers, staff and families.
  • Music: Music is an integral and important part of our delivery because it is both uplifting and sensory. We invite drummers and musicians along to the session to deliver music workshops and use music during our sessions to improve mental and physical health

A health and wellbeing tutor will working with our young carers and families to improve physical mental, and emotional health.

Health and wellbeing is a crucial aspect which is embedded in a range of activities we cover and will be the focus for the children, young carers, and families in our sessions.

The aim of the CIC group is to raise awareness around SEND issues and challenges. Our goal is to empower young people and their families to break down some of the stereotypes/myths around living with a disability.
