About us
We are part of Girlguiding UK the mission of this registered charity is:
‘Through fun, friendship, challenge and adventure we empower girls to find their voice, inspiring them to discover the best in themselves and to make a positive difference in their community’.
We are proud to be the only remaining Brownie and Guide units in Maltby. We offer girls from aged 7 to 10 (Brownies) and 10 to 15 (Guides) the opportunities to challenge themselves, make new friends and be themselves.
We plan half termly, using a variety of resources, but at the heart of everything we do, the importance is that the girls are having fun.
We look at healthy eating. We ensure that our girls see a range of different cultures and understand the importance of equality and diversity.
Examples of our planned adventurous activities and trips each year include:
- canoeing
- archery
- orienteering
- cooking healthy meals on a budget
- baking
- woodwork and DIY
- growing flowers and vegetables
- having a voice - being involved with political matters and doing activities over Parliament week, including putting forward their ideas and opinions about what matters to them in the local community; what do they want to see in Maltby and Rotherham. Contacting local councillors and MPs to discuss their ideas.
