About us
Our youth session provides open access and supports young people aged 10 to 16.
Alongside this we will also run a young volunteer’s session to support the young volunteers with the delivery of sessions, to ensure they have a voice in the delivery and progress as young volunteers. This enables us to support them with in their role and grow and develop during adolescence.
Within the youth sessions we plan with our young people a different topic theme linked to an activity, sport and food. This ensures our young people feel valued and supported whilst learning new skills, enabling them to grow and thrive within their own community.
The young people participate in a vast range of physical activities – including:
- dodgeball
- football
- cricket
- rounders
- dance
- ice breaker games encouraging them to interact with others.
They also enjoy playing bingo, board games, and doing arts and crafts activities.
We use a weekly topic around current issues to raise awareness and educate our young people in an informal setting. These topics include:
- anti bullying
- knife crime awareness
- hate crime
- relationships
- friendships
- sexual health
- identity
- equal opportunities
