Getting Engaged In Your Community
Getting involved locally is a simple way to do something positive for yourself and your community.
It’s a chance to connect with others, try something new and give something back. Many tenants tell us it helps build confidence, improve wellbeing, meet new people and build new friendships.
Your involvement also makes a real difference to your neighbourhood and helps the Council understand what matters most to local people, so we can improve homes and services across the borough.
We work in partnership with Rotherfed, a well-established community led and governed charity who support local communities to grow and develop, working with them helps residents build a sense of belonging, community spirit, and pride towards their neighbourhoods.
They focus on building upon the strength's and skills of local people so that their activities and groups are able to be ran sustainably, so that they're able to continue to do so in the long term. Rotherfed work alongside community groups to support them become established, organised and deliver relevant activities within communities.
