Ward plan
Providing vibrant, connected and safe neighbourhoods is a priority for Rotherham Council and communities are at the heart of everything we do. Rawmarsh West Ward Councillors were elected to listen to your views and work with you to make a difference in the local community.
We know many of our residents are passionate about making their community a better place to live and we are here to work in partnership and make these improvements a reality. Councillors used a range of information – listening to local residents and council staff, looking at statistics and other data – to develop these ward priorities:
Rawmarsh West Ward priorities
Priority 1: Improvements to the local community
- Tackle Hotspot Areas suffering from fly-tipping and littering
- Improving Open Spaces
- Improvements to area/village centres – Towns and Villages Fund
Priority 2: Facilities and activities for local people
- Support Local Community Groups
- Encouraging residents to use local facilities including the Rawmarsh Library
- Celebrate Parkgate’s 200-year anniversary to raise the profile of Parkgate, and reflect on its past and look to its future
- Identify/Support Voluntary and Charitable Organisations
Priority 3: Ensure Rosehill Park is a well-used resource and is accessible to all ages and abilities
- The safety of everyone using Rosehill Park
- Development of plan of events and activities in Rosehill Park
Priority 4: Tackling crime and anti-social behaviour
- Support partnership working initiatives that make people feel safe where they live or work
- Create initiatives that address issues in hotspot areas
- Identify common themes across Rawmarsh and address as a whole
