Booking an appointment
The Registrar will receive a scan of the Medical Certificate of Still-Birth directly from the medical practitioner.
On receipt of this, and after checking the details, the Registrar will contact you to offer you an appointment to register and to ascertain if you wish to order any certificates, these cost £12.50 each.
Please note, we always endeavour to offer appointments at a time where the office is quiet in order to provide a respectful environment for bereaved parents who are attending to register a still birth.

I haven't received a call from the registrar
If you have not yet received a call from one of our Registration Officers, check with the midwife or other medical practitioner that the Medical Certificate has been issued to the Register Office. If it has, please call us on 01709 823542.
What documents will be issued
Following completion of the registration, the Registrar will issue any certificates you require.
Certificates are £12.50 each and these contain full details of everything recorded in the still-birth register.
You receive a free certificate of registration which contains some of the information from the registration only.
The Registrar will also issue the certificate which will enable the burial or cremation to be arranged. This can be sent directly to the hospital bereavement centre or your chosen funeral director.
