House to House Policy Review

Background

Charities and good causes rely on donations in order to carry out the work that they do. Some of these donations are obtained by way of a “house to house collection” – this involves somebody calling at your home address and asking for money or direct debit details, or leaving you with a plastic bag to fill with unwanted clothes / bric-a-brac and then leaving it outside your house for them to collect on a specified day.

Rotherham Council has a policy that sets out our expectations of people that carry out house to house collections.
