What happens next
Nine responses were submitted to the web consultation, concerning eight of the payphones proposed for closure. These responses will be used to inform the draft decision on each individual payphone proposed for closure (either to consent or object). A summary of the comments received will be included in the draft decision notice which will be subject to further consultation.
Final consultation on the proposal by BT to close 42 pay phones will take place from 7 September to 7 October 2020. Any comments submitted in this forthcoming consultation will be taken into account in preparing a final decision on each individual payphone proposed for closure (either to consent or object). The final decision will be published on the Council's website, and notification provided to BT and the Secretary of State.
