Have your say on Public Spaces Protection Orders
Local authorities have been given the authority to establish Public Space Protection Orders (PSPOs) as per the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime, and Policing Act 2014.
PSPOs are designed to address specific nuisances occurring in specific public areas that negatively impact the quality of life for people using those spaces.
You can read the complete PSPO legislation.
A PSPO can remain in effect for a maximum of three years.
Violating a PSPO may result in receiving a fixed penalty notice or facing prosecution.
This consultation will run from the 18 of August until the 30 of October 2024. After the consultation ends, we will review all comments and use this information to form recommendations for consideration before the current Orders expire in January 2025.
