The Council wants to ensure that Rotherham’s licensed trade continues to be of the highest calibre possible for the residents of Rotherham and those visiting the borough.
The Council are proposing a number of key changes, including:
- Refresher training for drivers in safeguarding, driver knowledge and driving assessment;
- Changes to driver identification to ensure visibility;
- Improved vehicle signage to identify vehicles licensed by Rotherham;
- Basic DBS checks for staff that work in operator firms;
- Incentivise Ultra Low Emissions Vehicles (ULEVs)
