When is the landlord responsible on an unoccupied property?

When is the landlord responsible on an occupied property?

You will be responsible for Council Tax if the tenants only rent part of the property. For example, a bedroom in a house. We call this a house in multiple occupation. We will send the bill to you.

When is the tenant responsible?

Your tenant(s) will be responsible for Council Tax when you rent the whole of the property to one person or family, or to joint tenants. We will send the bill to your tenant(s).
