Thank you for your interest in the Rotherham Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment (2022-2025).
Health and Wellbeing boards have a statutory requirement to produce Pharmaceutical Needs Assessments (PNAs) on a regular basis. If a pharmacy contractor or dispensing appliance contractor wants to provide pharmaceutical services, they are required to apply for approval by NHS England and NHS Improvement. The primary use of PNAs is to guide decisions made by NHSE/I about whether to approve such applications.
A draft PNA has been produced for Rotherham by RMBC with oversight from a steering group of the local Health and Wellbeing Board.
