My name is Sarah Baker and I live Greasbrough Rotherham. I have been a registered childminder for 20 years. In January 2023 we was awarded outstanding again by Ofsted. Over the years I have extended my learning in several areas and discovered HYGGE. This led me into completing Hygge in The Early Years Accreditation. For me everything changed when I discovered Hygge, Hygge (pronounced hue-guh) is a Danish concept that cannot be translated to one single word but encompasses a feeling of cosy contentment and wellbeing by enjoying the simple things in life. I work alongside my daughter Carly Baker. Carly has a wealth of experience and a degree in Early Childhood Studies. We are passionate about childcare, and believe that the early years are the most important years these years will mould your little people to who they become in their older years.
We are a hygge accredited early years setting and we love it also the first and only one in our area. Our learning curriculum is based around the seasons and nature. We love being outside and being outside is a big part of our setting.
Nature offers us all something wonderful that you cannot experience inside. There is a great richness and a diversity to what we experience in the outside classroom. It also offers a calmness and an energy that is good for the soul. We are at our happiest when outside. From our welly walks around Greasbrough dam or at our happy place our allotment. I cannot begin to tell you how happy we are when down there. We have created a space that is totally accessible to everyone. We designed it so that little people can have full access everywhere. This offers an incredibly rich learning environment for your little one.
Smaller ratios of children mean more one to one with each child.
Every step of your child’s learning is tracked using baby days and you get full access to it so we can both share all the milestones and achievements. This will then be forwarded onto school, so the teacher knows where your little person is in there learning journey and development.
Our inside classroom offers a calm and welcoming atmosphere. The design of the room offers a child led free flow learning environment with exciting and enriching learning experiences planned around your child’s interest and next steps in mind.

At my setting I am commited to include children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities including medical and dietary requirements.
I work in partnership with outside agencies that support with your child to guarantee a multi-agency approach when meeting your child’s identified individual needs.
I have accessed training around areas relating to Special Educational Needs and disability with a commitment to keeping this updated.
