The electoral register and monthly updates are available for public inspection at Riverside Library at Riverside House, Main Street, Rotherham S60 1AE.

As inspections need to be supervised by a member of staff, you will need to make an appointment by contacting the library on 01709 336774 or email e-libraries@rotherham.gov.uk

The library is open Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5.30pm

When inspecting the electoral register:

  • your inspection will be supervised by a member of staff
  • You may only make handwritten notes; any other form of copying the information is not permitted in law
  • Any information noted can only be used for direct marketing purposes if it’s also in the open version of the register; you’ll need to contact us to check this.

Failure to observe the above conditions would be classed as a criminal offence under the Representation of the People (England and Wales) Regulations 2001 (as amended). The penalty is an unlimited fine.

Historical registers

Once a new register is published, the previous version of the register is no longer available for public inspection for 10 years.

After a 10 year period has elapsed, historical copies of the full electoral register are available for unsupervised inspection at The British Library and at:
