Maltby Town Council By-elections: 8 December 2022

There will be two by-elections taking place for Maltby Town Council, one in each of the Town Council’s wards.

There will be a by-election for two vacancies in the Maltby East ward and a by-election for one vacancy in the Maltby West ward.

Should one or both ward by-elections be contested, the polls will take place on Thursday 8 December 2022.

If you are registered to vote in the Maltby East ward of Maltby Town Council, you will be eligible to vote in the Maltby East ward by-election.

If you are registered to vote in the Maltby West ward of Maltby Town Council, you will be eligible to vote in the Maltby West ward by-election.

 

KEY ELECTION DATES

If you are not registered to vote, the deadline to be registered in time to vote in these elections is midnight on Tuesday 22 November 2022.

If you are not already a postal voter and wish to vote by post at this election, we must receive your application by 5pm on Wednesday 23 November 2022. This is also the deadline for us to receive any amendments or cancellations of existing postal or proxy votes.

If you wish to vote by proxy at this election, we must receive your application by 5pm, Wednesday 30 November 2022

For each ward, if there are more candidates than seats, a poll will be held on Thursday 8 December 2022 and polling stations will be open between 7am to 10pm.

Information for prospective candidates

If you are interested in standing as a candidate in this election, you can find information on the qualifications and disqualifications on the Stand for election to a parish council page.

The Notice of Election will be published on Thursday 3 November 2022, and nomination papers can be submitted to the (Deputy) Returning Officer between 10am and 4pm from Friday 4 November 2022, but not later than 4:00pm on Friday 11 November 2022.

Nomination papers must be delivered by hand to the (Deputy) Returning Officer, they cannot be submitted in any other way.
