We are committed to tackling climate change at Rotherham Council, and making it easier for our residents to access more sustainable transport options.
We began our electric vehicle charging infrastructure network in 2015, and since then we have expanded our network to 96 chargers across 21 locations in the borough. We have recently agreed our Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure Strategy, which has committed us to continue to expand our network, and to consult with residents and other interested parties about how we should do this. We have committed to carry out consultation for the lifetime of the strategy, which lasts until 2027.

Have your say on the future of EV chargers in Rotherham
We are keen to understand where there is demand, or potential land in the borough for public electric vehicle charge points. We are also keen to find out about any challenges residents are facing due to the transition to electric vehicles such as:
- Access to chargers
- Accessibility needs with chargers
- Personal safety considerations
You can let us know about this information using the form below.
The EV Charging Consultation form is intended to allow residents of Rotherham to suggest locations for EV chargers or provide feedback on current EV chargers. Locations can be specified by:
- Providing a postcode
- Placing a pin on a map
- Describing the location
We cannot respond directly to suggestions for locations for charge points, but we will use this information to help us plan for future projects. It may not be possible for the council to install chargers in every location, due to land ownership, electricity grid constraints, or other issues. Even if a specific location is not possible, we will still use provided information to consider if a charging location could be located close by.
Please note that we can only consider suggestions located within the borough of Rotherham.
