
Rotherham will come together to remember its fallen service members from past and recent conflicts on Sunday the 9 November for Remembrance Sunday.
This year’s Remembrance Sunday event will take place outdoors in Clifton Park.
Parade details
- The parade will start at 10:35am outside Garden House in Clifton Park.
- It will move through the park, passing the Bandstand and Fun Park, and arrive at the Cenotaph War Memorial at around 10:50am.
- Uniformed groups, veterans and local organisations will take part.
- Spectators are advised to take a quicker route directly to the Cenotaph to view the service.
Service details
- The service will begin at 10:55am, led by Reverend Canon Phil Batchford from Rotherham Minster.
- It will include:
- The Act of Remembrance
- A national two-minute silence
- Wreath laying at the Cenotaph
- The Mayor of Rotherham, Councillor Rukhsana Ismail, will lay a wreath on behalf of the borough.
- Members of the public are welcome to lay their own wreaths after the official ceremony ends.
Parade return
- At around 11:25am, the parade will return to Garden House.
- The Mayor and the Lord-Lieutenant will take the salute.
Parking
- Please use the Clifton Park car park via Doncaster Road (S65 2BH).
- No public parking will be available at the Museum car park during the event.
- Free parking is also available in Rotherham town centre, which is a short walk from Clifton Park.
