Schools with 2 year old provision can access support from the Early Years and Childcare Service.
The 2s in Schools Quality Evaluation and Improvement Plan has been slightly amended to reflect the Early Years Foundation Stage changes made September 2021. The Early Years and Childcare Service supports schools to complete this plan.
The Service are continuing to offer annual visits to discuss the Quality Evaluation and Improvement Plan, and offer suggestions for any improvements that would benefit children in the provision.
The Service will also continue to facilitate virtual 2s in Schools Network Meetings, and review the Early Years training offer to ensure schools feel fully supported by our team.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, due to commitment shown from childcare and early education providers to maintain the highest level of service to children and families, the Early Years and Childcare Service were able to continue to support settings from a distance using technology such as email, telephone, or video call.
Feedback has shown that many providers valued this flexibility and taking these considerations into account, from September 2021 the Early Years and Childcare Service continue to provide a blended approach of support consisting of some face-to-face contact and some using technological means.
Please note: any face-to-face visits carried out by the Service will be subject to a Covid-secure risk assessment and at the discretion of the setting.
