There are different ways of traveling around Rotherham, such as using buses, trams or taxis. Sometimes you might need some support to do this.
Here are some organisations that might be able to help you:
Rotherham Learning Disability Service - Travel Training
Adults with a learning disability, who are eligible for support from Rotherham Learning Disability Service, can access travel training from the Occupational Therapy team. Travel training involves an assessment of your safety and skills when travelling, and a programme to support you to increase your skills in travelling independently if appropriate.
If you would like to access this support, please make a referral via the Care Coordination centre on 01709 426600, and ask for a referral to the Rotherham Learning Disability Service.
If you have not accessed the Learning Disability Service recently, an assessment may need to be completed to find out if this is the correct service to support you before the travel training can be offered.
