A warm welcome

Starting a new job can be overwhelming, but we ensure that our new team members receive a warm welcome. During your first day, you will meet your team, receive technology setup, and get familiar with our extensive staff resources.

Induction and First Week

Throughout your first week, you will receive a blend of induction and case work systems training, shadowing opportunities, and networking to meet colleagues across the department. We know that starting a new job can be challenging, so your manager will check in with you regularly to ensure you are settling in and have all your questions answered.

Flexible Working Hours and Patterns

We understand the importance of work-life balance. That's why we offer a range of flexible working arrangements that can accommodate your needs. We have various options, from flexing your hours to compressed hours, that allow you to maintain a healthy work-life balance while still providing essential services.

Our Social Care Offices

We have several offices located around the borough, depending on which Social Care team you join. All of our offices are bright, modern, and designed for purpose. We have two community offices and a shared office space at the hospital for the Integrated Discharge Team. Our offices are open-plan, allowing for flexible use while still maintaining team identity.

Celebrating Our Staff's Achievements

We value our staff and celebrate their achievements regularly. We have an annual Big Hearts Big Changes Awards ceremony, team and individual level awards, and are part of the South Yorkshire Teaching Partnership Awards celebrating Social Care's excellent practice. We celebrate smaller successes every day and share best practices across various channels.
