Family support: Early help

Every family needs a helping hand from time to time. The way we understand your needs is by sitting down with you. 

Early Help can support you: 

  • If you are worried about a child's health, development or behaviour 
  • If you are a child, carer or young person looking to find training or further education 
  • If you are a child, carer or young person looking for advice on employment or benefits

Nutrition and weight management

The Rotherham Children’s Public Health Nursing Service provide advice and support for children, young people, families and carers.  

The Rotherham Children’s Public Health Nursing Service deliver a public health based service across Rotherham from late pregnancy up to 19 years old (SEND up to 25 years).

Childcare, early education - Childcare and early education support available for families.

Childcare choices - A list of Government schemes available to help you with the costs of childcare.

Tiny Talkers - Helping children to learn can be as easy as talking, listening, and playing with them whenever you can. The Tiny Talkers team offers support and advice for parents.

Five to Thrive - Five to Thrive is based on a set of five key activities that are the building blocks of healthy communication and brain development: respond, cuddle, relax, play, talk.

Baby and toddler activities - Activities are taking place in your local area.

Tiny Happy People - The BBC's Tiny Happy People is here to help you develop your child's language skills, with simple activities and play ideas to help make sure they get the best start in life.
