May-July 2026 Parenting Offer

Triple P 0-12 

Parenting programme for parents of children 0-12. The programme promotes positive parenting strategies, coping and self-care skills.

Duration: 8 weeks

Start Date: 16 April 2026

Time: 12:30pm to 2:30pm

Location: The Place, Coleridge Road, Eastwood

Triple P Fearless 

Fear-Less is for parents (of children aged 6 to 14 years) who'd like to learn how to teach their children to manage anxiety effectively.

Duration: 8 weeks

Start Date: 13 April 2026

Time: 12:30pm to 2:30pm

Location: Brookfield Family Hub

Sleep Tight 

This course helps parents understand the impact of poor sleep on behaviour. The programme supports families to implement creative and evidence-based methods of improving sleep patterns in young children (aged between 3-11 years).

Duration: 4 weeks

Start Date: Wednesday 24 June 2026

Time: 9.30 to 10.30am

Triple P Teen 

Parenting programme for parents of teenagers. The programme promotes positive parenting strategies, dealing with emotional and risky behaviours, coping and self-care skills.

Duration: 8 weeks

Triple P Stepping Stones 

This programme is for parents of children 0 to 12 years who have a child with a disability. The programme builds parenting skills for promoting children’s development, social competence, and self-control.

Triple P Baby 

Triple P for Baby aims to prepare parents for a positive transition to parenthood and the first year with baby, promoting sensitive and responsive care in the perinatal period. Parents actively participate in a range of exercises to learn strategies to develop a positive relationship with their baby, promote their baby’s development and help teach their baby new skills and behaviours.

Duration: 8 weeks

family Links 

This Programme for parents and carers of children aged 3 -12yrs. It improves the emotional health of both adults and children and strengthens family relationships, providing parents with new skills in listening and communicating with their children and it develops an understanding of behaviour in the context of relationships.

Discussion Groups for parents/carers of 0-12 year olds

These are one off sessions, delivered either online via a TEAMS link or in person, as detailed below.

Developing Good Bedtime Routines:

This discussion topic explores different problems parents commonly face at bedtime and some of the reasons why they happen. The skills children need are discussed and parents are introduced to positive parenting strategies to help prevent problems.

Hassle Free Outings with Children:

This topic uses shopping trips as an example of one of the most common times parents have to deal with difficult behaviour in public. Positive parenting strategies are discussed step by step to prevent this.

Dealing with Disobedience:

This discussion group covers why some children have difficulty learning to follow instructions. The group explores strategies and parents develop a personal plan to teach their child limits and manage disobedience when necessary.

Managing Fighting and Aggression:

In this session, parents are encouraged to share their experiences of aggressive and destructive behaviour from their children and discuss some of the reasons children fight. This group covers the skills that children need to be able to cooperate and get along with others. Parents learn how to teach skills such as sharing, communicating, and being gentle. They also prepare plans to manage times when fighting and aggression do occur.

Discussion Groups for parents/carers of teens

These are one off sessions, delivered either online via a TEAMS link or in person, as detailed below.

 

Coping with Teenagers Emotions:

Please note: this session is specifically for dads and male carers. In this session parents discuss some of the reasons teenagers have emotional reactions and skills that teens need to calm themselves down. Positive parenting strategies are introduced to help parents teach their teen to better manage their emotions.

Getting Teenagers to cooperate:

Parents share some of their experiences and ideas about dealing with non-cooperation and discuss reasons why teenagers can be uncooperative. Positive parenting strategies are introduced to help parents develop a plan to motivate their teenager to be more cooperative.

Teenagers survival skills:

This discussion topic explores why teenagers sometimes make risky decisions and how they can learn to keep themselves safe while gradually developing independence. Parents are introduced to positive parenting strategies to help their teen plan for different situations.

Reducing Family Conflict:

During this discussion, parents explore experiences of conflict with their teenager and discuss why sometimes this occurs in families. Positive parenting strategies are introduced to help parents teach their teens how to get along with other family members and resolve problems.
