All Different, All Equal – Anti Bullying Showcase

Rotherham school children took part in special event to showcase films, presentations and dance routines they have created to highlight the work they have done to raise awareness of bullying, and the hurt it can cause other children.

The event took place at New York Stadium in November 2017 as part of the National Anti-Bullying week. It culminated with a staged card stunt event, where the children held up cards above their heads in the stadium to spell out “All Different All Equal”, the national theme for the year.

Across Rotherham, pupils were encouraged to wear odd socks in support of the theme of everyone being different and being equal.

The event was co-ordinated by Rotherham Council and the Rotherham Anti-Bullying Company, which is part of the Council’s School Improvement traded service. It educates schools with tactics such as introducing an anti-bullying buddy teams in the playground, workshops for staff, pupils and parents, individual group work and restorative justice meetings between upset pupils, and it has seen good results at schools across the borough to drive out bullying
