Towns and Villages Fund: Hoober Ward

Site selected

Masefield Road shops and adjacent green space (Outside No’s 1-7 Masefield Road)

The proposal sought to improve the appearance of the area, improve accessibility and provide a community space/focal point within the green space.

Identified site issues

The central green space lacked purpose and visual interest.

Footpaths ran around the perimeter of the site and did not provide direct routes through.

Cars parked on the shop forecourt area, which created pedestrian safety issues.
