It is proposed that this scheme will make public realm improvements to the Doncaster Road shopping area in East Dene.
Current Site Issues
The area around the shops has been chosen as it is considered that the area would benefit from general upgrades to the public realm to improve the overall appearance for local residents, businesses and visitors to the area.
The below map indicates the site area and highlights some of the potential interventions that could be carried out through the Towns and Villages Fund. This has been developed to assist pre-design consultation and we welcome any feedback on this or alternative ideas for the scheme in this area.
The initial proposals being considered include resurfacing works, improvements to highway and pedestrian safety and soft landscaping works to generally improve the appearance and attractiveness of the area.
Scheme progress and next steps
Consultation period has now finished. The concept design is underway – This will go through a further round of consultation. It is hoped that the work will be carried out early 2024.
