Residents are invited to attend a series of community-focussed activities that will celebrate the opening of Swinton Library and Civic Hall, on Friday 26 July.
The new library and Civic Hall neighbourhood hub will create a space for families and community groups to come together in a safe, modern environment.
The event will be opened officially by local community groups whose use the library, Rotherham Council Cabinet members and Swinton Rockingham ward councillors, who will perform a ribbon cutting and take part in the planned activities.
A number of local community groups will be showcasing what they offer to residents at the official opening, where they will be joined by family and young people services.

Rotherham Council Leader and member for Swinton Rockingham, Cllr Chris Read said: “The opening of the new Swinton library marks a further major achievement in our programme of investment into every library in the borough.
“This one is especially close to my heart because I was a very regular visitor into the old library as a child, and it was there that I photocopied my way to homework projects, discovered John Wyndham's Day of the Triffids or the escapism of a Dick Francis thriller.
“It's so important that future generations have the same opportunity for those kinds of experiences, in safe, warm and free local facilities. We're looking forward to seeing people of all ages at the open day."
Member for Swinton Rockingham, Cllr Gina Monk added: “We’d like to invite all members of the local community to help us celebrate, on what promises to be a joyous day in Swinton. We’ve invested in these impressive new facilities to not only serve our current residents but generations to come.”
