Rotherham Show wows visitors at this year’s festival

Last weekend people came together to celebrate the unique spirit of the borough and experienced an amazing variety of activities and performances, which brought out large crowds at the Rotherham Show.

Despite the mixed weather, a crowd of 45,000 visited Clifton Park for this year’s two-day extravaganza, the largest free cultural festival to take place in the North of England.

The show is organised annually by Rotherham Council, and this year the Children’s Capital of Culture Area enabled people to have a sneak peek of what to expect during the Children’s Capital of Culture festival year in 2025.

New spaces included the Eco Village, where visitors spoke to Rotherham Council’s Climate Team, enjoyed inspiring performances and watched parading puppets, plus there was all the usual favourites such as the Vintage Vehicle Rally, Made in Rotherham Horticultural Show, Companion Dog Show, and Strongmen Competitions.

The show provided various types of music on two stages in the park, programmed by the Children’s Capital of Culture, Rotherham Music Hub and Khula Arts, as well as plenty more activities to entertain and wow visitors throughout the weekend.

Rotherham Council’s Cabinet Member for Social Inclusion and Neighbourhood Working, Cllr David Sheppard, said: “Even though there was some rain around this year, it didn’t dampen people’s spirits. We were delighted to welcome thousands of visitors to this year’s Rotherham Show. There was something for everyone to enjoy, and people were impressed with this year’s offering of a wide range of acts, workshops, pop-up performances and attractions.

“Thank you to everyone who was involved in making this year’s show as fun and joyful as possible, including our funder, the Arts Council England, who fund the show alongside the Council. Every year, Rotherham Show feels like the beating heart of the town giving people the chance to come together and make some great memories. We hope that you can continue to join us, and make many more wonderful memories in the years to come.”

The Rotherham Show is presented by Rotherham Council and its partners.
