What's on this March

It’s nearly March and there are lots of fun events taking place across Rotherham. This month, the Run Yorkshire 5k, 10k, 15k and Half Marathon will take place in Rother Valley Country Park on Sunday 6 March from 9.30am onwards. We hope that you can join in!

There's also the parkrun taking place every Saturday in March, on the 5, 12, 19 and 26 March, at 9am in Rother Valley Country Park and also in Clifton Park. The 5K parkrun is for beginners to experienced runners, all are welcome at the free events.

Rotherham Libraries are marking International Women's Day on Tuesday 8 March and Riverside Library is celebrating some great local and famous women and offering a complimentary hot drink. Also, there will be lots of fun with creative activities for children in libraries this month for World Book Day on 3 to 4 March, British Science Week from 11 to 20 March and Shakespeare Week from Monday 21 to Sunday 27 March.

Also, one of the biggest bands selling bands of the 1960s, Herman's Hermits, are embarking on their solo 55th anniversary tour and will be performing their greatest hits at Rotherham Civic Theatre on Sunday 27 March, 7.30pm.

  • Wednesday 2 March, 10am to 10.30am, World Book Day - The Smeds and the Smoos, free craft session running all week, stories and rhymes for the under 5’s, Swinton Library.

  • Saturday 5, 12 , 19 and 26 March, 9am, parkrun, Rother Valley Country Park - a 5K Run for beginners to experienced runners, all welcome. A free, fun, and friendly weekly 5k community event. Walk, jog, run, volunteer or spectate – it's up to you. You need to register online before you first come along. Please register in advance to gain your free bar code on the parkrun website. Only ever register with parkrun once and don't forget to bring a scannable copy of your barcode (request a reminder). If you forget it, you won't get a time.
