Summer activities for young people in Wickersley North

Summer activities in Wickersley North

Over the summer holidays, free activities are taking place for young people in the Wickersley North ward.

Children and young people can get creative in Woodlaithes, or get active in Wickersley and Flanderwell park.

Get creative in Woodlaithes!

Chol Theatre & Arts Company are putting on creative, arts-based sessions for children and young people aged 11+ in Woodlaithes throughout the summer holidays. Look out for their blue and white Cholavan, where you can join them to discover the arts, including dance, drama, music, creative writing or mural making.

Sessions will take place on:

  • Thursday 11th August

  • Thursday 18th August

  • Friday 26th August

The sessions are free to attend and will be right on your doorstep, usually close-by to the shops and the greenspace behind The Woodman pub. Times will be determined by the young people, to best suit their busy summer holiday schedule, but keep your eyes peeled for the team during the afternoons and early evenings, around 3pm-7pm.

For more information, please visit the Chol website.

Get active in Wickersley and Flanderwell!

Rotherham United Community Sports Trust (RUCST) have organised multi-sports sessions for children and young people in Wickersley and Flanderwell parks throughout the summer holidays.

The sessions are free to attend.

  • Flanderwell Park, 12.30pm to 2.30pm, Fridays
  • Wickersley Park, 3.30pm to 5.30pm, Fridays

The arts and sports sessions have been funded by Councillors Sue Ellis, Emma Hoddinott and Chris Read, through their Community Leadership Fund, as part of their work to promote opportunities for bringing people together, enhancing community spirit and improving mental and physical wellbeing.

Come along, join in and have fun!
