Motorists encouraged to slow down in Waverley

New road signs in Waverley

Rother Vale Ward Councillors, in partnership with Waverley Community Council have purchased two speed activated signs to encourage motorists in Waverley to slow down and be mindful of the speed limit.

The signs also raise awareness of the dangers of speeding.

There have been growing concerns from residents regarding the speed of some vehicles particularly along Highfield Lane, which is also the site of Waverley Junior Academy. South Yorkshire Police have carried out several speed checks and will continue to do this over the coming months.

The two flashing signs are located on Highfield Lane and will flash to remind motorists of their speed and encourage people to slow down.

Data can also be gathered from the signs and this can be used to improve road safety in this area and make it a safer environment for families and children.
