Spotlight on the Waverley Buds Community Garden Group

Waverley community garden group - gravel path

The Waverley Buds Community Garden Group is made up of residents that have come together to design and create a growing space at the heart of the community.

The Community Garden is situated just off Highfield Lane across from Waverley Junior Academy and provides a peaceful area with seating, a water feature and planting for everyone to enjoy.

Rother Vale Ward Councillors provided Community Leadership Funding alongside Sky Homes and Howarth to install a gravel path that now makes the area accessible to all users.

Martin the Chair of the group, said:

We believe time in the outdoors is beneficial for mental wellbeing, it promotes better physical health, and community-based projects like ours help to build social connection and inclusion for all. We've got exciting plans for the community garden. Some already in motion, some on the horizon, and we hope a lot more for many years to come.
