Rotherham Council pledged investment in smaller town and village centres as part of its Towns and Villages Fund (TVF). The money has been specifically earmarked for areas of the borough that are not being supported through national Government funding schemes.

Since the funding was confirmed, Ward Councillors in the Aughton and Swallownest Ward worked with their communities to draw up a list of sites they wanted to see improved. Following this, they nominated the Rosegarth Avenue shopping parade for environmental improvements.

Councillor Lyndsay Pitchley, Ward Councillor for Aughton and Swallownest Ward, added: “Investment into the area through the Council’s Towns and Villages Fund will encourage people to shop locally and support local businesses.

“We are pleased to reveal the plans for improving the Rosegarth Avenue shopping area.”

Councillor Robert Taylor, Ward Councillor for Aughton and Swallownest Ward, said: “We want to know what residents think about the plans that have been produced.

“Your feedback is important, and you can provide this in a number of ways. You can get involved by sharing your thoughts at a community consultation event, or you can let us know what you think on social media.”
