Rotherham Council has launched a new app which will allow residents to easily check their next bin collection date and which bin will be emptied.

Residents will also be able to set alarms to remind them to put out their bin before 7:30am on collection days.

Subscribers to the Garden Waste collection service will be able to see when their next garden waste bin is due to be emptied.

Waste services information will also be accessible via the app, including opening times and locations of Household Waste Recycling Centres. Residents will also be able to access report forms for missed bins, and be alerted to delay to the service in times of severe weather.

Rotherham Council’s Cabinet Member for Community Safety and Waste Services, Cllr Dominic Beck, said: “We are delighted to introduce the new app so that residents have all the information they need at their fingertips. I have already downloaded the app and I have made use of its handy reminders, so I know I’ll never miss another collection or put out the wrong bin again.”

The Rotherham Bins app can be downloaded for free from the Android and Apple app stores onto any mobile and tablet devices.

Further information about waste services will still be accessible at www.rotherham.gov.uk/bins
