Have your say on plans to improve Main Street in Catcliffe

Rother vale towns and villages

Through investment from the Council's Towns and Villages Fund, proposals have been put forward to improve the the area surrounding the shops on Main Street in Catcliffe.

Have your say on plans to improve the area and come along to a consultation event on Saturday 18 February, between 10am and 12 noon, at cafe Plough and the shops on Main Street.

It is considered that the area selected would benefit from public realm improvements.

This could include replacing existing bollards, or considering alternative measures to prevent vehicles parking on the footway. Upgrading the footway surface could also be considered as well as reinstating road markings.

In the wider area, wayfinding signage to local sites of interest could be installed. Additional bins, new seating, planters, bulb and shrub planting could also be considered. This would create a more pleasant environment for residents, businesses and visitors to the area.

You can view the proposals in full on the Towns and Villages Fund webpage.

The proposed scheme is in a period of community consultation, with face to face consultation planned as well as consultation through social media channels.

We are keen to hear ideas from local residents and stakeholders.

Should you have any feedback, comments or suggestions on the proposal please forward these by email to townsandvillages@rotherham.gov.uk.

All feedback received from the consultation will be collated, considered and incorporated into a concept design, which will go through a further round of consultation.

It is hoped that work will start on site in Spring 2023.
