Employment Solutions Hub launched in Rotherham

Employment Solutions Launch Event

Rotherham Council has officially opened its new Employment Solutions Hub, with the aim of providing resources and support for people in search of work or training opportunities.

The hub is made up of dedicated advisors who can help people to develop basic skills and move towards or into employment. The support they offer is tailored to individual needs and includes employment and training support and help to access work experience opportunities. This can be one-to-one coaching and support, helping to people develop their CV, and signposting to other Council or local partner services.

The Employment Solutions team has been operating since 2020 and has already supported hundreds of Rotherham people into work and training. It has relocated to a new base at Riverside House in Rotherham Town Centre, which was formally launched by Councillor Chris Read, Leader of Rotherham Council.

Councillor Read said: “In recent years we’ve doubled the Council’s spend in the local economy, kickstarted the biggest programme of regeneration for years and become an accredited Real Living Wage employer.

“It’s by connecting local people into the employment, training and learning opportunities that are created that we can make our local economy work better for local people - which is what the Employment Solutions team aims to support.”

Beverley France, Employment Solutions Team Leader, added: “The Hub gives our Rotherham customers greater access for face-to-face support into employment and training. Our expert team can help customers navigate and remove the barriers preventing them getting into sustainable work. We welcome and encourage everyone to try our services, whether currently unemployed, economically inactive or even in work if earning below £25,000. ”

The Team will be shortly launching an additional specialist service from the Hub to support those with a learning disability and/or autism into employment.

The Employment Solutions team’s new base, on the ground floor at Riverside House in Rotherham Town Centre, operates a walk-in service with no appointment necessary.
